Sample Answer
Dear Carlos,
I hope this letter reaches you in good health. I want to offer my heartfelt apologies for not being able to join you as you celebrated your birthday.
I was eager to be a part of your special day, but unforeseen work responsibilities emerged and required my immediate attention. I hope you can understand the gravity of the situation and that I can be forgiven for my absence.
I recognize the value of open communication, and I regret not reaching out to you sooner. These work commitments came about suddenly, taking me by surprise and leaving me with limited time to notify you. I deeply regret any inconvenience caused by this delay.
However, I am eager to make it up to you by proposing an alternative time and location for us to meet. How about we arrange a dinner or coffee date for next weekend? I believe it would give us a chance to catch up and celebrate your special day. Kindly let me know your schedule, and I will do my utmost to accommodate it.
Hope to see you soon.
Warm regards,
Morgan
